Some Different Shaped Rockets v4
What we learned from the last experiment was that the rocket wasn’t dropping is fuel fast enough and was trying to take off carrying the full weight. We needed to find a way to expel the fuel faster, so may be a cork in the bottle instead of a nozzle. Sticking with the 25g bakingContinue reading “Some Different Shaped Rockets v4”
Vertical Rocket Sled v3
So moving on from the sled, we tried to launch it vertically …that was interesting… Clearly the rocket is too heavy to take off, but once it looses weight it takes off. So, a couple of things to try on the next iteration: Bigger nozzle – maybe a cork instead of nozzle Smaller rocket GetContinue reading “Vertical Rocket Sled v3”
Rocket Sled v2
For the last few weekends we’ve been experimenting with a vinegar and baking soda rocket. This is the second iteration After the last iteration, as the sled accelerated away, it hit the back tyre of the ute and bent both axles. This iteration we strengthened the axles and more accurately measured ratio of vinegar andContinue reading “Rocket Sled v2”
